War of My Life

"Come out angels,
Come out ghosts,
Come out darkness,
Bring everyone you know.
I'm not running,
and I'm not scared,
I am waiting,
And well prepared.

I'm in the war of my life,
At the door of my life,
Out of time
and there's nowhere to run

I've got a hammer,
And a heart of glass
I gotta know right now
which walls to smash
I got a pocket
Got no pills
If fear hasn't killed me yet,
then nothing will
All the suffering and all the pain
Never left a name

I'm in the war of my life,
at the door of my life,
out of time
and there's nowhere to run
I'm in the war of my life,
at the core of my life
Got no choice but to fight til its done

No more suffering, no more pain
Never again

I'm in the war of my life,
at the door of my life,
out of time
and there's nowhere to run
I'm in the war of my life,
at the core of my life
Got no choice but to fight til its done

So fight on,
fight on everyone
fight on
got no choice but to fight til it's done
I won't give up
I won't run
I won't stop for anyone"

  19. Dear Family,

I am lost for words to express my sympathy with your loss. The first time I met Mike I knew he was special in so many ways. Not only with our common interest in hot rodding and doing special work, but as a kind, considerate, hard working, and intelligent young family man. I am so sorry. We pray for the family during this most difficult time of loss.

    Sincerely,

  20. Stacy, Lili, Tom & Angie,
I was at work when I got the message late in the day. I left immediately to be at home with dad. I'm heartbroken by your loss, and the loss to all of us. I've been reading Mike's blogs to dad and I've actually been working on a website for another welder while at school this semester. As I was showing dad my work, he said "Michigan lost one of the finest welders it ever produced today." That, and so much more. We are so proud of him, how he fought this fight. None of it makes sense and it never will. I know his grandma was waiting for him with open arms. She loved Mikey, very much, as we all did. I know it isn't much comfort now, but at least his pain is over and he is good place. We love you all.

  30. am standing by the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads his white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
He is an object of majestic and strength,
    and I stand and watch
until at last he hangs like a peck of white cloud
just where the sun and sky come down to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says, 'There he goes!
Gone where? Gone from my sight - that is all.

He is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as he was when he left my side
and just as able to bear his load of living freight
    to the places of destination.
His diminished size is in me, not in him.

And just at the moment when someone at my side says,
    'There he goes! ' ,
there are other eyes watching her coming,
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout :
    'Here he comes!'

He still lives on he is with us just out of sight!

We can't begin to imagine how you feel, but our hearts are broken for you. You have been such a blessing to Connor, he misses you very much. He just lights up when he talks about having you in class again. He is afraid you will be lonely and wants you to know that all of your 'kids' love you very much. Know that friends care, and are holding you up in prayer at every moment.
